Among the many misconceptions regarding the English language, the most common is perhaps that its spelling system is highly inconsistent. In short, unlike Italian, many believe that English spelling is absolutely unpredictable, which would make it too hard to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But is it really so?<\/strong>\nNot at all! In most cases, there are rules that can help you learn how to read and write in English correctly and without too much effort. The secret, developed by the Jolly Phonics method, lies in the phonemes, which are the sounds that a letter (for example, the letter P is read \/ p \/) or a group of letters (the letters EE are read \/ i \/) produce. Detaching itself from traditional methods based on the teaching of letters, the Jolly Phonics focuses on these sounds, which students first learn to pronounce and recognize, and then reproduce graphically. The sounds are presented to children in a playful and multi-sensory way as each of them has its own song, gesture and story. This makes remembering them easy and fun as there is not only one way to learn.<\/pre>\n\n\n\nHow is it important?<\/strong>\nAlways on the lookout for new teaching methodologies to support our students, our school has decided to introduce the Jolly Phonics method in the years K4 and K5 of our kindergarten.
